As an older person who has perhaps 10yrs left to live I CAN understand the desire to die in a common cause IF it would mean the end of war.

I would fly directly into Biden or the UK minus Scotland/Wales and Ireland.

BEWARE of older women who can fly and have superior fighting skills!

Absolutely fantastic movie. I’m a fairly recent convert to Godzilla nerddom, but Godzilla nerd I am. I’ve told everyone who will listen that you don’t have to have an affinity for the genre to love Minus One. Godzilla is a character (a force?) within a masterfully put together movie, rather than the whole reason we’re there, which he usually, essentially, is (and deservedly so. I could listen to that roar for hours)

Love it! Thank you DC!!! I’m expecting rain and 34 degrees tomorrow in my sunny Pensacola. Might have to reach into the Martyr Made catalog for something to keep my mind off it!

No, I can understand because of what you've written in this exceptional review, and understand because I am a mother and if I needed to hurl myself towards death if that would be the only way to secure life for my child, I would have no choice but to do so. It's not alien to me to recognize the anguishing duty to protect one's family by any means necessary. It's always such a terrible waste, as with WWI, that the finest of any nation's young men are the ones killed off by the vileness of their incompetent leaders all the way up to the top.

I'm fairly familiar with Japanese culture; I worked as a young woman for a Japanese trading company in NYC and the Japanese expatriates I became genuinely friendly with were those who refused to conform to the system and were a considerable irritation to their peers.

And of course I grew up on the Godzilla series, and have watched a fair number of Japanese (English subtitled) drama and comedy films.

In general I admire Japanese art but am no fan of cultures of obedience and submission to norms, and while I'm sorry so many Japanese civilians were melted by the horror of the atom bomb dropped on them, I'm glad they lost a war that later history tells us might have been averted. It always surprises me how many people still admire that wretched fool Yukio Mishima and his false fantasies of manhood.

Once again I salute you for the elegant straightforwardness of your analyses and writing.

LOVE this movie. My Godzilla Minus One hoodie arrived a few days ago. Thank you, Japan, for showing us that culture is still deeply important

My oldest daughter is a sci-fi nerd and dragged her other 2 sisters to see it. When they came home talking about the movie.. I paid attention. They loved the character arc. Loved that it was in Japanese with English subtitles to make it more authentic. I will definitely see it.
